QR Codes

Ever wonder what that weird black and white picture of nothing is?  Why is it showing up on posters, signs, and various stores?  I have even seen these weird designs in tiny towns with "Scan to learn more...." type comments.  How strange to see in such a tiny town of nothing but simplicity.  These pictures are "QR Codes" and are meant to link you to a website or similar electronic link.  Many SMART phones have apps that allow you to take a picture of that code and it will open up the website or link.

How does it work? I used http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ one of many sites that created this QR code (see details below).  Use your smart phone QR Code app and take a picture of this QR Code and see how it works!  You can easily print these codes for your kids as a lesson or extension in your classroom!  Yet one more way to bring meaning to your technology integrated classroom!

Go to a QR Code Generator website (I just googled QR Code Generator) and type in your web address.  Then click 'generate' and it will give you a link to copy the HTML code or you can print the picture and tape it to the appropriate place.  It is that easy!
